Calling all budding design researchers, our next speaker at Nudgestock Global is an internationally invited thought leader, speaker and panellist and the founder and director of Studio for Design Research, Hong Kong.
Anjali Kelkar, who has expertise in culturally empathic Digital Transformation, Design Thinking, Human Centered Design and Organizational Change, will take to the Nudgestock stage during the Asia-Pacific section. We’re thrilled to have her join us on the day and can’t wait to learn from her experience in working with multinational stakeholders and navigating cross-cultural chasms.
We broke the ice with a few of our favourite questions…
What are your top tips to survive lockdown?
"Aim for 10 Surya namaskars (sun salutations) a day to keep vascular health, and for mental agility. Give back to the world, change your mindset about your expertise and offer your services to support NGO's, what do you have to lose? You'll stay healthy and calm, keep your expertise up-to-date and grow your global network!"
What development in your field has surprised you the most this year?
"The uptake for online co-creation platforms... and what this means to your real-life persona as a practice leader. Running in-person design strategy workshops are much like a repeat theatrical performance, you have the script but you need enormous energy with drama to consistently deliver an engaging experience. All this disappears when we deliver virtually in a co-creation scenario."
What is the piece of work that you are most proud of?
"A very recent 'aha' in a piece of client work. Discovering the critical role of a consumer group, through field research and ethnographic data, that was previously considered peripheral to the business challenge. And being successful in helping reframe the strategy to develop concepts that would now focus on attracting and engaging this new group."
And finally, tell us a fact we wouldn’t know about you…
"If I can't do the Trans-siberian railway by 2022 (thanks to Covid, I've been 'de-railed') then am going to travel to Tajikistan."
