He Xu is at the forefront of the emerging field of anthropology in China. As head of research in Rhizome Cultural Development, she helps companies such as Chanel, Coca-Cola and Unilever to understand the roots of human behaviour.
We’re thrilled that she is joining us at Nudgestock Global this year and are looking forward to hearing her unique perspective on business anthropology in China.
Ahead of the big day, we asked her a couple of our favourite questions…
What are your top tips to survive lockdown?
“Stay calm, follow instructions from experts, and eat more.”
Tell us about a development in your field that surprised you the most this year?
“The application of anthropology is attracting more attention from the training and education field. Lots of companies are pursuing research and innovative skillsets for their teams. They used to reach out to agencies, but are now raising standards for managers themselves.”
What is the piece of work you are most proud of?
“Every year I feel different from last year about myself and my career, so it's hard to say a piece of work that I am "most" proud of. Maybe the next one? I do feel very proud of my team... but that is not exactly a "piece of my work".”
